Dank neuester Messtechnologie kann kann der genaue Ladezustand der Service-Batterie jederzeit abgelesen werden. Außerdem gibt es die Möglichkeit, weitere Batteriedaten wie Strom, Spannung, Restkapazität und Restbetriebszeit der Bordnetzbatterie abzulesen. Für zwei zusätzliche Starter-Batterien kann die Spannung abgelesen werden.
Die Batteriemonitore speichern außerdem Nutzungsdaten der Batterie, wie die verbleibende Batteriekapazität, mittlere Entladetiefe und die Gesamtzahl der Batteriezyklen.
Als Schutz vor Tiefentladung oder auch als Warnung vor einer zu geringen Spannung der Starterbatterien gibt es die Möglichkeit, einen akustischen Alarm zu programmieren.
Die Batteriecomputer bieten eine hohe Präzision (Messbereich von 10 mA bis 300 A bzw. 600A) und eine automatische Korrektur des Ladefaktors wenn eine volle Batterie erkannt wird. Die effektive Batteriekapazität wird im Zyklenbetrieb kontinuierlich nachgeführt und wichtige Informationen zum Batteriestatus werden über die gesamte Lebensdauer der Batterie nachgehalten.
Die Philippi BLS-Systeme können in Systemen mit Nennspanunngen von 12 und 24 Volt eingesetzt werden. Auch gemischte Systeme sind kein Problem.
